政府から援助を受けている貧しい人々の家には上の様な看板を取り付けてある。Poor people who 　aregetting assistance from the government are gettting such a plakat hangon their home.

この家族はわずか数円の現金しか持っておらず大変貧しい。右は、この家の息子が日本カム基金現地スタッフから、家の二階を作る為の支援を受け、受け取った援助金を確認している。This extremely poor family has only a few cents cash. The son received some financial help from the NKK representative in Chattring,so they may build a floor to live on the top of the ground floor,where the animals are being kept.

日本カム基金の援助で出来上がった家の二階。家の壁だけはまだ真っ白に塗っていなかった。This family`s new first floor,which has been donated by Nihon Kham Kikin has been finished in May 2002,only the white painting is missing yet.

大変貧しい家庭の姉弟。彼らも家の二階部分が無い為、日本カム基金は家の二階を2002年援助した。Brother and sister from a very poor family with no first floor.NKK assisted them to build a first floor on their home in 2002.

同じ家族。左はおばあさんと皮膚病の息子。彼のできものはあまりにも痛いので、働けない、動くだけでも痛い。娘夫婦と孫と一緒に暮らしている。The same family,on the right the grandmother,on the left her ill son who cannot work because of his disease on the back,which is extremely painfull even by moving.They are living together with her married daughter and grandchildren.

彼らは動物と一緒に住んでいる一階。Their all in one room,together with their animals on the ground floor.

The grandmother is receiving some financial from NKK representative in Kham,to build a first floor on their home.

彼らは今まで動物と一緒に住んでいたが、2002年6月に日本カム基金の援助で家の二階が出来上がった。Until recently they were living together with their animals,but in June 2002 they have finished the contructionworks for their first floor and are living now in more hygienic environment.

持ちや豪族たちは、中国が侵略してから、財産(美術品、宝石、仏像、衣装、家、土地、家畜)の全てを没収され、また一家の稼ぎ手たちが殺されるなどしたため、現在でも貧困から抜け出せずにいる家族もいる。また昔から貧しく、貧困の汲ｩら抜け出せない家族もいる。
東チベットでは通常一階に家畜と農機具を置き、二階を住居にしているが、貧しさ故に二階部分を造る余裕がなく、家畜と同居しておりとても非衛生だ。汚れのある服もぼろぼろで、物乞いと変わらないほど。家畜からハエ、のみなど人間が生活する所まで来て、ふたの無いコップでお茶を飲むだけでもたくさんのハエがコップの周りに飛んで、お茶にも入る。この不衛生な悪い環境で生活すると特に小さな子供達の健康に影響がある。彼らは家で収穫した大麦・チーズ・バターなどを物々交換しているから、自分たちはそれらを口にすることは少なく子供達は栄誉失調で、常に鼻水が垂れている。長年貧しさｯ出せず、絶望感が漂っている。
そこで、日本カム基金現地スタッフの協力で政府データで一番貧しい、子供が居る家庭を選び、5家族に家の2階部分を建てる為の援助を行うことになった。政府は材料の木材を無料で提供し、2階部分の建設は各々の家族が自ら行い、日本カム基金は建築資材の運搬費用を負担する。子供達がもう少し人間らしい環境で育ち、里親の協力で学校に通い、今の貧しい生活のサイクルから抜け出､にすることが、ねらいである。
田舎の小学生の教育にはあまりお金がかからない。町の進学校に入学する時は最近の若い親は親戚の協力で子供達を学校に通わせる。しかし中学生になると、学費、寄宿舎などにもお金がかかり、親戚たちはそれら全ての面倒をみることが難しく、里親が見つからないと中学校進学ｵなければならない子供も居る。そこで、日本カム基金は貧しい家庭の子供たちの中から一番困っている里子達を選び、里親を募集している。

Some of the former rich Tibetans,whose properties and posessions had been confiscated,are still very poor,and then there are also families who had been poor already for generations and still are very poor.
In Eastern Tibet Kham people usually keep their animals as sheeps,cows etc on the ground floor of their own house and the family is living on the first floor.Now some very poor families have only a groundfloor,therefore they have to share their floor with the animals,which is not very hygienic. These people produce cheese,butter etc from their animals,but they have to sell all these products to buy grains etc they cannot grow on their own fields, so the whole family including the children are almost never tasting cheese,butter etc ,therefore the children are always having a running nose because of inproper diet.
NKK searched for the poorest under the poor with the help of our Chattring representative and the help of the government. We decided to finance the transport costs of the needed mterials for the fisrt floor of five families housing. The government promised to furnish timber free of charge.It is our aim that the children of theese extremely poor families may live in a more humanlike atmosphere. With the help of a sponsor they may also go to school and hopefully may escape from the cycle of extreme poverty.
Attending primary school in a village is not costy,as the schoolfees are free,but schoolfees have to be paid for primary school in towns. As there are no junior high schools in villages,but only in towns,every child who has graduated with very good marks from a primary school in a village,have to go to a junior high school in a town and have to pay high schoolfees,including dormitory etc,which many villagers and even town people cannot afford. Even when the child is a bright student,many children cannot to to junior high school just because of lack of money. In these cases NKK tries to find sponsors for the most deserving cases ,to grant these children a better future.

後の残り三家族は家の二階を作る為の準備が遅かった為、まだ出来ていない。材木はそけぞれ自分の土地に置いている。The remaining 3 families haven`t finished the first floor of their homes,but the timer is lying on their plot of land.
